While Kochi is the main hub for tourists visiting Kerala, other cities in the state are less frequently visited by foreigners coming in and exploring their cultures. Therefore, attention is inevitably drawn when a dozen university students show up with cameras, microphones, and notebooks. Our presence was very visible within the public sphere of the regions where we collected sensory information. While we were able to gather a wealth of authentic ethnographic data through multiple forms of media, we were also attentively regarded by many locals, some who went out of their way to welcome us in their environment and familiarize us with their activities.

Our visit to PSMO College was covered by many local newspapers and television stations.
